I woke up today still shaking off the tail end of a week-long headache... the kind that turns your brain to mush and makes every little task feel like you’re walking through wet cement. But I guess the silver lining was that it forced me to pause and remember (again) that I can’t build a sustainable business or life if I don’t take care of the human running it.
It’s funny how that reminder always sneaks up on me. Sometimes it comes as burnout, sometimes as clutter creeping back in, and sometimes… it’s as simple as catching myself chewing my nails again after months of not doing it. Those tiny habits whisper things if we’re willing to listen.
This week, I pulled out The Millennial Tarot. I needed some humour to balance out the fog this past week. I love how relatable this deck is. As an elder millennial (is it"cringe" as my kids would say for calling myself that? LOL), it always makes me feel a little seen and a little called out.
Here’s what came through 👇
This Week’s Spread
Past: Lockdown
Present: Can’t Even
Future: DIY Skills
(Bonus cards that were hiding in the box: Generational Wealth + Teletherapy)
Lockdown (Past)
You’ve been in recovery mode, consciously or not. A season of restriction, maybe from burnout, maybe from boundaries that had to be built. Either way, your body and mind have been craving stillness, even if your to-do list hasn’t.
Can’t Even (Present)
Right now, you might feel like you’re functioning on fumes. The energy of “I literally cannot” is real (and valid). This is the card that gives permission to not push harder. It says: regroup first, then decide what deserves your limited spoons.
DIY Skills (Future)
This one made me laugh out loud. Because yes, I did buy a nail drill this week thinking I’d save money doing my own nails. And yes… it went horribly. But it also reminded me that joy and curiosity live in the same space as chaos. I even went with my daughter to our favourite little local spot (Luna & Boo) to get my nose pierced again — impulsive, yes, but guys when am I NOT impulsive 🤪 Anyways, maybe that's the balance right there: knowing when to try things yourself and when to let the pros handle it. Nails at home? Ya I could DIY it (not really though)... nose piercing, ya wasn't gonna attempt that one by myself (even though TikTok says I could buy supplies on amazon and go for it - eek!).
When I went to put the cards back into the deck I noticed there were actually two cards that somehow didn't make it into the original shuffle. They are "Generational Wealth" and "Teletherapy".I could have just left them out of the photo above and thought nothing of it, but I feel like they were meant to be there, so maybe those messages are for someone here. When I look at those two cards together I think of my own struggles with money mindset and seeking support (aka therapy as the cards puts it) and it's like a little nudge that I'm not done that work so it's going to just keep showing up.
Message for the Week
This week is about balance and boundaries. You’re rebuilding your energy, one sustainable choice at a time. You don’t have to do it perfectly or do it all yourself. Let joy in where you can, rest when you need to, and remember that “done with help” is still done.
🪶 Conversation Starter
What’s one area of your life or business you’re tired of DIYing... something that would actually feel easier or more joyful if you let someone (or something) help?
Until next week,
